OOTD Week 1/23-1/27

As many of you know, I am a planner.  So with that I like to plan my outfits the week before. Especially now with my new weight loss journey. I go to my closet like I am shopping, looking at different pieces to put together and try out.  It isn't much weight loss but it's enough that I can wear clothing differently.  Mainly without cinchers, tanks underneath button ups and I have to wear my belts tighter.  Not only do my clothes fit better but so do my shoes.  My feet haven't been swollen in a long time.  Partially because I have omitted adding salt to most of my food and I don't eat real meat or dairy anymore.  It has been a great change for me.

Anyhoodle, enjoy my outfits.  I am short one day, because I was home sick.

Food Prep Week 1/23

This week we went with pasta.  My mom showed me a vegan Alfredo recipe, with cashew cream.  I was going to make that, but changed my mind and decided to make it a little more simple for myself.  Shi-Shi wanted something healthy and opted for zucchini noodles for her pasta.  I chose a store bought pasta, which was a zucchini/spinach blend rotini noodle.  Deb got true Alfredo.  We all had chicken, well I had vegan chicken.  We all had broccoli and Shi and Deb had tomatoes.  I hate cooked tomatoes...

Enjoy each different pasta meal this week:

                   Deb:

Shi: Added her tomato after it was warm and has basil pesto

Mine: I made a butter garlic sauce.  And my chicken is on the bottom

OOTD Week 1/17-1/20

We lucked out again and were able to have casual all week.  Which put a damper on my new outfits I wanted to wear.  But if all goes well, then I can wear them next week.  And show off my new girlish figure.

I did jazz up my outfit on Wednesday, just for Ss and Gs.

OOTD Week 1/9-1/13

We are back to business at work, so I decided to dig out some dresses that were snug.  As well as some pants in the last two pics, I haven't worn in 2 years.
Let me tell you, I feel like a million bucks and with out sounding like an ass, think I look it as well.

Food Prep. Weeks 1/9 and 1/17

As I mentioned before, I was slacking on posting.  With the slacking came slacking on food pics.  I have been focusing on working out and eating vegan that I stopped focusing on the blog and thus stopped taking pics.  So instead for these two weeks, I will briefly let you know what we had, and then you can use your imagination on how it looked.

For week 1/9 we had burrito bowls.  Or a version of them.  The girls had ground turkey and I used beyond meat crumbles.  We had the same veggie mix of corn, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream.  I had a vegan sour cream by Tofutti, that in my opinion tasted better than the real thing.

For week 1/17 we had pepper steak and mashed potatoes.  The girls had real steak meat and a blend of cheesy and butter potatoes.  While I had gardein beefless tips.  The food was so good, it tasted like Salisbury steak, which is exactly the taste I was craving.  We all had the same veggie blend of green bell pepper, yellow onion, and mushrooms.

OOTD Week 1/3-1/6

So now that I am on this weight loss journey, I have a new found confidence and have been wearing a lot of my old clothes.  By old I mean clothes that I sized out of temporarily and can now fit better again.  I'm almost to the point of needing to officially take them in, but it makes me nervous in case I go back.

Orange Chicken and Cauliflower Fried Rice 1/2

This week we wanted something semi-healthy and different.  Since I am still eating plant based/vegan, I have my trusty Gardein mandarin chicken and cauliflower rice, with a little tofu.
The bomb I tell ya.  The girls had real chicken and the same cauliflower rice.

                      This is Gardein version

NYE 2016

This year we decided to do something different.  Every year we go to Faces.  Don't get me wrong Faces is fun, but it is never anything new and exciting.  It may also be that I don't drink as heavily as I used to, so I am more mindful of what is going on around me.  I did a quick search for NYE events in Sacramento and came across a singles event.  I figured what could it hurt.  Maybe I can meet someone that is worth while.  Well that never happened, but it was fun.

The event was at a local hotel by my house so the cab fare was next to nothing, which is great for NYE.  When we arrived at the time stated, no one was there.  The hostess wasn't ready to check us in and the hotel staff didn't know anything either.  I automatically thought that was not a good sign.  We waited quite a bit before she finally came down to check us in.  Once we were checked in, dinner was still not ready.  We had to wait over an hour for dinner to come our way which, mind you was an extra cost.  The food was good at least, even though they had green beans, which I hate.

There was never really an explanation as to why she was so late, not that it would have changed anything, but maybe an apology would have been nice.  Or even letting us all know what time we could expect dinner would have been nice.

While at the table we met some nice ladies (no men). And we actually exchanged numbers for future hang outs and what not.

There were 2 dance floors, one with a live band that played old school music and one that had a dj that played records.  Both were very enjoyable.

In the main room, they had some different tables.  A poker game, a psychic and some Cookie Lee crafts. The psychic was cool, which  I always enjoy going to.  So far the last psychic I saw, was not correct, so I don't expect this one to be either.  But always fun.

There was supposed to be a speed dating time, but that never occurred.  Which in reality I was very nervous to do, so part of me is glad it wasn't there.  However, if it is mentioned then it should have been offered.  I think the reason why it never happened is because there were not enough men.  There were men in couples, but not single men.  And the ones that were there were either too old, or too young.  The mix wasn't very good that's for sure.

Other than the lack of males to even attempt to speak with, the event itself was fun.  It wasn't a rager, but it was nice to get dolled up in a different way then usual.  This event was black tie/cocktail attire.

The thing about cocktail attire is women tend to still dress like hoochies.  Just because it fits doesn't make it appropriate.  There is such a thing as too short.

All in all it was fun.  I may do it again, but with far less expectations, and I would skip the dinner.

And enjoy this video.  The DJ called me out to come and dance

OOTD Week 12/27-12/30

I am back y'all.  The holidays had me lazy so I was slacking on posts.  Lucky for you all, I still take my pics everyday in that beautiful bathroom mirror.  So enjoy!
